Took Dad to the markets and look what I found…all were $4.00 each except for Dead and Buried which was $20, but I wanted a quality copy of this so grabbed and considering the others were sold to me at half price a winner : )

Nifty steelbook, but the Criterion transfer is supposed to be a lot better.

 :horror:

True story... Where does it spend most of it's time? In the player? Or on the shelf?

It'll still be a decent transfer, and I'd rather something like Seven Samurai not looking perfect.

Arrived today, more Steelies!

On the shelf as a spine though...  ;)

I'd never pay a premium steelbook price for a shitty transfer no matter how good the artwork was (unless of course I could pick up a better transfer release for cheap and then I could just switch the discs...)

It'll still be a decent transfer, and I'd rather something like Seven Samurai not looking perfect.

How can you not want something to look as good as it possibly can (i.e. as close to the film negative)?!  :grimace: That release is still supposed to look okay. Possibly blasphemy alert, but Seven Samurai has never been a film I've liked much. It's a technically accomplished piece of work but I certainly have no desire to buy it or watch it again any time soon.

That Re-Animator is a great release, plus a nice steel too. I will probably wait for a price drop on The Fly as I'm in no major hurry to pick that one up, although it is one that I want to add to my collection at some point.
