Xtro (1982)
« on: March 26, 2013, 08:27:04 AM »

Xtro is a low-budget British science fiction horror movie made in 1982 and directed by Harry Bromley Davenport and co-produced by Bob Shaye.

I love Xtro.  So many memorable scenes and a surrealness to it that makes me keep coming back.

Yeah, I really enjoy Xtro too.

It has so many memorable scenes, although the 'birthing scene' is probably the most infamous.

I love the scene where they turn the hot girl into an egg incubator.  That just creeped me out for some reason (when I first watched it back in the 90s).

When I was young I was not the biggest fan but it always stayed with me. But now I really appreciate this film and love it for the reasons that put me off it in my younger years.

I have a double feature dvd of Xtro and Xtro 2. I've never seen Xtro 3 before though.

What a strange little film this is. It wasn't what I was expecting but that's not always a bad thing. It has a surreal, almost dream like quality to it.

This is the one I have swell, was quite cheap so snapped it up.

I totally agree with your description for it, pretty spot on.

Don't bother with Xtro 2 & 3.. they are just poorly made, badly acted trash, that has nothing to do with the original.

I totally agree 100%. 2 is a kinda clone of Alien/s to me, well at least it seemed that way...a very VERY poor clone at that!

Wow . . . talk about a blast from the past!  I haven't seen XTRO since I was 12 or 13, but I remember it fondly. Well, I remember the scene in which a woman gave birth to a grown man.  That was the stuff of nightmares!

I need to revisit this one soon.  I think the disc is Out of Print, though, if memory serves?  Probably pretty pricey . . . .

I just saw this a few weeks ago for the first time. I found it  so strange and weird, but I loved it.

I actually watched Xtro 2 it's not too bad, it has some good low budget creature effects.  Nowhere near as good as Xtro 1 though.

Started watching it again a little while ago, going to give it another chance. Maybe wasn't in the mood for it at the time of the first viewing.

Xtro (1982)

A gem this movie.  Yes, it's better than E.T.  A must see.

Xtro II:  The Second Encounter (1990)

A decent b movie creature feature.  Low budget but the creature effects aren't too bad.

Xtro III:  Watch the Skies (1995)

Didn't really like this one.  Just seems like a bad rip off of Predator.  But maybe due for another watch.
