The Day of the Triffids (1962)

One of my favorite older horror/sci movies from the UK.

The movie differs from the book in that the man sized carnivorous "Triffids" first arrive as spores from a meteor shower -
whereas in the novel it's from the result of experimental plants getting loose.

Either way it's a solid story, and a cult classic that is entirely deserving of a viewing.

I LOVE this movie aswell.  I saw it as a child and it always stayed with me. I revisit it every so often. Its a comfortable feeling.

Have to agree on this one. Even though it has been a while the story stays with me.

Actually wouldn't mind seeing the Miniseries as well. Apparently that follows the book more closely.

As in the TV series?

I have heard it is way truer to the book's storyline than the original film. I am interested as it is a UK production thus has the potential to be brilliant.
