Slender Man (2018)
« on: January 13, 2019, 07:43:25 PM »
This has gotten mostly trashed, but I think it needs another look.

The film is full of occultic imagery (a lot of horror films are if you pay attention).  Occultic imagery everywhere in this world - it's like a hidden language

Is clearly referencing the masonic tracing board:

(You see the way the 3 lights are positioned and the chessboard floor)

Maybe I'm wrong, but there are many other images like that throughout the film.

I usually don't like films like this, mainstream usual fare horror but I will check it out cuz I like you.  : )

Let's see where this takes me..and I'll come back and be nothing but honest.  :gum:

I don't either, but some are done well.  Particularly when you can see the multiple narratives going on - one for the braindead (for the most part) public, and the hidden narratives that few recognise.

Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is notorious for this, but many mainstream films have it, especially fantasy/horror films.

Everybody should have some basic knowledge of the occult anyway.  Not doing the rituals because that is potentially dangerous, but knowing what the signs and symbols mean.
