The Night God Screamed (1971)
« on: February 28, 2013, 03:04:15 PM »
dir: Lee Madden
origin: America
subgenre: thriller / home invasion [hippiesploitation?] / revenge

This would make a good back-to-back with I Drink Your Blood->hippies with murder on their minds...

There's a Jesus-wannabe leader to a bunch of obedient flower children who makes his entry with a baptism-drowning.
This acidhead group meet an older couple who've just opened up a new church. The husband and preacher doesn't comply easily, so he's crucified and murdered.

The spouse, Ms. Pierce testifies against the hoodlums, and HIS, the chosen one's, words of vengeance are spoken.

Fast forward a bit: Ms Pierce is all fucked up-traumatized still but takes a babysitting job to spoiled ass kids in a nice rural two story, where the rest of the film takes place.
One other thing to note, is the father of the 5 kids is also the judge that sentenced the hippies. Yeah. Double whammy yikes.
and it begins... Someone is indubitably outside and with a mean-spirited message.
There's more. I won't say, but it's such a good double twist at the end.

The Night God Screamed is one of those movies that never saw a DVD release that well deserved it. It's available on Youtube for those who're curious.
