They have just started showing the tv series Monsters on Horror channel in the UK, it's by the same company that brought us Tales From the Darkside. I'm a sucker for anything like that & am currently 8 episodes in & really enjoying it.

Do you mean the late 80's/early 90's series? Yeah, was good fun. I only came across it a few years back myself. There were a few great episodes but I felt it was pretty mixed over all.

^^ Yeah that's the one, i had never heard of it before, doesn't seem very easy to come by on DVD either.

Oh man.  Those were the days when I was a kid.  Saturday night on the local syndication channel were:

Monsters
Tales from the Darkside
Friday the 13th: The Series
Freddy's Nightmares

I have a lot of nostalgia for all of those shows.

You gotta love that intro. Why isn't the intro here?

I love this series. The guest stars were some good ones... like Mary Woronov or Gina Gershon in her -yum- primier prime.

There's this one that will crack me the fuck up every time... This couple are dancers and the guy won't let the girl go, so she poisons him one night just before he says she should do her own thing. Then they dance - he falls in the most awkwardly hysterical way. The girl gives good comedy.

Aside from campy, I recall some good n creepy, some sorta disheartening(the misunderstood alien that crash landed on Earth and brought foreign disease but put up a protective shield over the city only to be... yeah).

I was also a fan of Amazing Stories with the others mentioned.

Still working my way through Season 1 & the episodes i like most are:

Holly's House
New York Honey
Where's the Rest of Me(starring Meat Loaf)
Fool's Gold
The Mother Instinct
Rain Dance

but my fave so far has the be The Match Game:

Four teenagers go into a haunted Victorian mansion and play a game where each tell part of a ghost story while a match burns, but the story comes true.

Starring rich kid Tori Spelling & Hellraiser's Ashley Laurence, great stuff, atmospheric & a cool zombie like creature.  :)

I recall the first episode? with Ashley Laurence. She was so purty...
That was a genuinely scary one, as I thin back.

Freddy's Nightmares

I just want bloody New Line/WB to release these already. They won't in fear they'll lose money. Bullshit.

There is two episodes on the BluRay set of the films. Which, is cool. But I want all of them. I'm pretty sure you can get bootleg copies. I've never overly looked into it though.

They aren't master pieces, but they are good fun. And, well, I just need them it being Freddy and all...
