Rest In Peace George A Romero
« on: July 16, 2017, 06:37:46 PM »

I am fucking devastated. He is why I am here. Why I love horror, why films make me happy.

The first horror film I ever saw was NOTLD68. I was 10. I never felt the feelings I felt before. I was glued to the screen. I became one with the film...I had to see more. He is the GodFather to the zombie genre, no one is better or ever will be. He is a true filmmaker. A true lover of horror.

This thread is the honor him and his films. I can't gather any more words right now...Please share your thoughts. : (

Wish I had the memory of my first Romero!

That moment when I had my eyes opened to an individual talent who didn't go by convention...of other people's rules. Who looked upon a genre he loved and giving us a fresh perspective on whatever he set his mind on.

Romero had always been in my life since I started watching from a very early age. Original zombie trilogy, Martin, The Crazies etc etc.

Horror is more than just another genre for me...it has been a friend and lover!

So fuck what a sad day...what a loss! Of such a talent! Of what he has given us and what could have been!

Thank you for such wonderful and unique movie experiences sir...you will always live on in my heart!

Just finished watching Day in his honour. Best Zombie film ever in my opinion. I had no idea he was ill with cancer. And to think there were talks of him doing another Dead film last month.

Trying to find my old dvd copy of Martin but to no avail. Devastating blow to horror. May be R.I.P.

Both the beginning of both Mr. Romero's filmmaking discography AND the beginning of zombie cinema as we know it. So was only natural NotLD should play before my eyes on this night!

Everything feels perfect...settings, music and how everything unfolds!

Thank you deeply sir!

Was such a bummer when his passing was announced.

Such an artist and pioneer. His films will forever be legendary and cherished.

Nice one dobermann65...saw Land of the Dead when it hit the cinemas here.

Dawn of the Dead just grows and grows on me. Love it now though was not always the case.

Shits all over the remake anyways, for me now the best part of THAT is the opening and closing credits.

Felt this was the proper place to share...

Opened up the package and spied a thing of beauty!

AS a kid watched The Crazies quite a lot. Excited to re-experience again after a few years.
