Bereavement {2010}
« on: February 17, 2013, 07:05:14 PM »

Director: Stevan Mena

Quote
In 1989, six year old Martin Bristoll was kidnapped from his backyard swing in Minersville Pennsylvania. Graham Sutter, a psychotic recluse, kept Martin imprisoned on his derelict pig farm, forcing him to witness and participate in unspeakable horrors. Chosen at random, his victim's screams were drowned out by the rural countryside. For five years, Martin's whereabouts have remained a mystery, until 17 year old Allison Miller (Alexandra Daddario) comes to live with her Uncle, Jonathan (Michael Biehn). While exploring her new surroundings, Allison discovers things aren't quite right at the farmhouse down the road. Her curiosity disturbs a hornet's nest of evil and despair that once torn open, can never be closed.

I loved Malevolence and the opening to it and the music too in the beginning.

I liked Bereavement and the kills were better in it but I liked Malevolence better and the killer wearing the white cloth mask in it.

I heard that there might be a part 3 to the series.

Malevolence was originally a trilogy , and was the second part  part of the trilogy.  Bereavement was part 1 .  I have been looking and waiting for the third film, but so far there has been no word on a production of the film.

Like Wooden I liked Bereavent better. Had more story, and a lot more blood   :)

I suspect that the third one will be the killer's demise or perhaps they'll let him live  to kill again.......if they even bother to continue with the storyline

I asked Stevan Mena(the director) on facebook and like you said he plans for it to be a trilogy and it's in his works so to speak as long as he can get enought producers for it so I hope it comes out.

I also prefer this over Malevolence, a solid performance from the lovely Alexandra Daddario.

I read somewhere recently that they have begun work on the third film in the trilogy, I have high hopes this will be great.

Yes, I agree upon viewing this that it is better than the first film. Really felt that the serial killer was the real deal with his own demons that were very real to him. Along with this he was quite could and the victims were just meat to him and nothing more.

Stevan Mena certainly has improved as a director but in stating this the film feels close enough to Malevolence that you get that feel of a timeline and relationship between the two.

Very cool. I'm friends on facebook with actor Brett Rickably who played the lead character Graham Sutter in it and he's a very cool person and I've pm'ed him a few times and he always responded back to it. He was in The Crazies remake too and most of it was filmed here in my state of Georgia.

I still love Malevolence better.

I just saw it and didn't know it was part of a trilogy.

It's gory backwoods horror, mainly set in an abandoned meat factory.  Not that gory but quite a bit of blood.

The ending is pretty good, I didn't expect it.
