Jim VanBebber; Diary of a Deadbeat
« on: September 05, 2015, 05:41:50 PM »
"Diary of a Deadbeat" is a full length documentary on independent cult filmmaker Jim Vanbebber.

Produced and Directed by Victor Bonacore

Jim VanBebber, an uncompromising, underground, outlaw filmmaker from Greenville, Ohio has become one of the most infamous and controversial American independent filmmakers of our time. VanBebber brought us such cult classics as Deadbeat At Dawn (the first feature film made in Dayton, Ohio) My Sweet Satan, The Manson Family, and many others. Shot over the course of several years, Diary Of A Deadbeat is a documentary that follows VanBebber’s life from his early super 8mm films to his days in Hollywood. Directed by young auteur Victor Bonacore, the documentary features interviews with an eclectic group of artists including Pantera’s Phil Ansemlo, transgressive film director Richard Kern, Skinny Puppy’s Nivek Ogre, R.A. The Rugged Man, Heidi Honeycutt, Stephen Biro, Damon Packard, Jessie Seitz, and many more.

Just wanted to get a thread started on this doc. I think it starts at film fests and I hope it proceeds to DVD's for sale. You know I won't eat for a week or so to save up my coins to buy this.

Once again, the greatest underground director ..ever.

Just re-watched! A lot of thoughts and ideas came across that I had been contemplating about lately when it comes to special effects; of the stop motion style animation effects for creatures. and what have you.

I want to craft my films and not just go "hey gollygosh I can use some CGI and it is gonna look coool!"…..nope, it's gonna look cheap and tacky! It MAY look cheap using this old school way…when I do it...BUT it is gonna look great with a tonne of passion!

I feel that this is going to be an amazing eduction for myself as a amateur filmmaker on so many levels.

As an after note; who wouldn't want to see those short films Jim did as a kid out on a DVD or, as extras on this release? To me it would be brilliant!

Seeing this in a theater with a bunch of underground / indie film makers and supporters, was intense and a blast.

The doc itself is incredible, and inspiring. Became a bigger fan of VanBebber because of it.

The limited edition cover for Victor Bonacore's DIARY OF A DEADBEAT: THE STORY OF JIMVANBEBBER, the painting was done by the talented Eddie Bonacore(Eddie Bonacore Tattoo). This edition will be limited to 200 hand numbered copies and will be housed in a clear Blu-ray case!

These should be in our hands within the next few weeks, a more solid date will be announced when we get a more solid date from our distributor. ~ Massacre Video

I don't even think Victor knows what his intentions are... if he's playing the act of his notorious Synapse calls to promote Victors doc or he's really upset and on his rants. the doc is dope, but I expect to be a hiccup here and there with VB, but then again he was shown the final piece and "okay'd" it from what I know
