Quote
Nearly a year after a botched job, a hitman takes a new assignment with the promise of a big payoff for three killings. What starts off as an easy task soon unravels, sending the killer into the heart of darkness.

Kill List is a deranged suspense film that mixes genres and developing a story with a very interesting introduction, which then continues with a development that little by little goes explaining and deepening its themes, and with an ending with a cruelty and graphic violence .. impactful.

The film begins with an approach that presents a family drama, as if you were watching a dramatic film, introducing the characters, to the troubled relationship of marriage, friends and how the couple's son suffers to see their parents fighting continuously. Violence and realism is palpable.

After this, the film begins to enter in lands much deeper and bloody, featuring the work that the characters have to do, describing their victims, and making a very interesting emphasis on the personality of the protagonist, which is the great enigma until the resolution of the conflict. Here there are plenty of violence scenes, which are great, and are used to inspect with rawness and depth the human folly.

Without going into details of the resolution, in its final stages we discover a horror that may not look like what we expected, but that is precisely the strength of Kill List, surprise without compromise.

"Kill List" is uncomfortable and unpredictable from the first sequence. The profound discomfort that transmits, comes to give the minimum information to each segment so that the viewer experiences the same apparent lack of direction that have its protagonists.

But ultimately it is a crude portrayal of human madness and with and unexpected ending that that finishes with a strong and violent way.

Great movie. Don't know of many people that have seen this, which is a shame. There was a couple of scenes that genuinely made me cringe with discomfort, namely the hammer scene.
Again, I was familiar with a couple of the actors from more comedic roles, particular 'Tyres' from Spaced.

I know of a lot of people who didn't like this one... I thought it was a very well made film, and that the shift in tone was well handled. The ending was a tad predictable, however.

KILL LIST was another "blind buy" for me that ultimately paid off.  While I had no idea what I just watched when all was said and done, I loved it all the same.  Quite disturbing, with moments of brutality that made me cringe like few films do these days (yeah, I'm thinking of the hammer scene first and foremost -- how the fuck they pulled that off I'll never know, but I do know I haven't cringed like that since the first time I saw the scene with the fire extinguisher in IRREVERSIBLE).

This movie is pretty much perfect in my books to be honest and it was one of the best of the last few years, not to mention the rewatch factor is great for picking up on new things everytime you watch it.

People who say the last twenty minutes came out of nowhere obviously didn't pay close enough attention to the movie throughout.

This film is brilliant, it's great to see us British making good films again and Ben Wheatley is a great director, all his films are great.

Can we all agree that the soundtrack for this film is incredible? I remember downloading it while I was staying with my Mum and Dad on their farm in the Welsh countryside and listening to it during an evening walk down the woods. Oh my. It did things to me.

Saw this ages ago, remember it reminding me a lot of A Serbian Film, which came out the previous year to this.

How exactly? They're completely different films.

I don't remember it too well,  but there are some aspects of the plot very similar.
