I can remember talking about this with my friends at primary school. At this time I had never watched any F13 films but they raved on this one. On watching I like it though not mind-blowing by any means!

Not my favorite of the series but I do consider it better than Part 7, Part 9, and Jason X. Like you said, it is a very weird film that has a bit of a grindhouse vibe to it. It is at least entertaining due to the high body count and the pure craziness of the characters.

I rank it 5th place after 4, 2, 1><3 and '09 reboot respectively. After that not counting FVJ it goes 6, 7, 8, X and JGTH.

This is one of my favourites.  I would rank this just below Part 3 and the original.  Although to be honest I probably prefer Roy to Mrs Voorhees.

Also has the best Tommy Jarvis, Jason's main nemesis.  I don't really like the dude in Part 6 or Corey Feldman really.
