The House of Clocks (1989)
« on: January 23, 2015, 02:33:28 PM »

"Three lowlife punks are trapped in a posh villa while trying to rob it and become at the mercy of the murderous owners whom have the power to stop and reverse time via their mystical clocks."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097021/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Lucio Fulci's TV film 'The House of Clocks' is not particularly good as its clever idea is wasted thanks again to his usual lacklustere execution, as a story like this really requires a great deal of suspense and tension something  he knew nothing about. There is a distinct lack of atmosphere here as well something Fulci was usually fantastic at. But the screenwriters are also to blame as the legion of plot holes makes an interesting premise become confused - convoluted instead of intriguing. The acting isn't too bad in this one, there are some entertaining scenes entailing a fair share of Fulci's teademark gore that makes it passably entertaining and despite its nifty idea not realizing its full potential itís still a curious watch.

I like this.

Yes, it's not Fulci's finest hour but as TV movies go it was pretty solid.

It was made as part of a four part 'series' known as The House of Doom collection. Fulci directed two of the four (House of Clocks and The Sweet House of Horrors) and Umberto Lenzi directed the other two (House of Lost Souls and The House of Witchcraft). Clocks is my favourite of the four.

Personally I dug this and have watched it a few times, in fact I am overdue to giving it another watch.

Seen this one a couple times and its a good one...definitely an underappreciated(compared to the rest of his body of work)Fulci movie.
