I was expecting this to be a tad on the lame side.. Boy, was I wrong. What we have here is the most original, and fresh Zombie genre film we've been long in need for. In a time where Zombie's have become nothing but boring and over saturated, with stupid TV shows like Walking Dead, and in the last few years several big budget productions trying to cash in on the craze, I've all but given up on Zombie films.

Enter Wyrmwood. It's fresh, it's original, it's bloody, and it's fun. Decent performances all-round. Some absolutely youbute Aussie humour, and nods to Aussie history and custom/way of life that is done perfectly. The zombie's are unique. The effects on the worlds fuel sources are awesome, and, what they use for fuel is even more awesome. And then there's Zombie mind control and Zombie minions. Something I haven't seen since the likes of old Voodoo type zombie films.

There's some CGI bullet hits and such, but instead of taking from the film, they actually add to the feel of it being like a graphic novel. Something like '300' or 'Watchmen'. And the films design fits that to a T. Oh, and Brooke Bradey is an absolute fucking babe.. Fuck yeah.

In a World where Zombie's do nothing but repeat, reshuffle, and re-use everything, Wrymwood comes in, picks it up and goes against the grain. And doesn't lose itself to obscurity in the process. A kick-ass flick. And one of the best Aussie films around.

A Maestro of Horror. A genre Master. And a legend of the Sliver Screen. Wes Craven 1939 ~ 2015

A nice fresh and different approach to an oversaturated zombie genre. Funny as hell and some great fighting scenes as well....

I was looking at my list today and had completely forgotten that I had watched this movie while it was on Netflix a while back, I don't believe I finished it because something popped up and I had to leave but I am definitely going to try to find it if it's not on Netflix anymore and give it another watch.
