Cold Light of Day {1989}
« on: July 06, 2013, 08:54:48 AM »

Director: Fhiona-Louise

Between 1978 and 1983, Dennis Nilsen - an outwardly unremarkable former soldier and police officer turned civil servant - killed at least fifteen men and boys (most of them students or homeless) in gruesome circumstances, allegedly retaining the corpses for sex acts before disposing of the butchered remains by hiding them in cupboards, under the floorboards, or simply by flushing them down the toilet. This grimy, clammy, little-seen independent film is a lightly fictionalized account of Nilsen's hideous deeds, with a standout performance from Bob Flag as the milquetoast murderer, here renamed Jorden March. Nilsen was known as "the kindly killer", and practically the first thing we see Nilsen doing is taking care of one of his neighbours, a sobbing old soldier who's just wet himself. It's hard to believe he could hurt a fly, let alone dispose of fifteen victims in a variety of horrifying ways.

I've been looking for this film for awhile. I kept coming across THE Cold Light of Day {2012} with Bruce Willis. Fine, but that is not what I wanted. Anyway  Renacimiento found this for me, I'm so glad he did.

Pretty good film, sick and disgusting at times. It is only an hour 15 mins long. Kinda a slow build up but then it gets nasty.

I've never seen this. I've been meaning to check it out for years, based on my general interest in regards to serial killer biopics. I also have never come across it anywhere.

This does sound amazing with what it states in the quote and what you describe about it wooden. Love the look of those stills as well...has a nice gritty look that I love! From time to time I watch these movies and love them...really makes me think about this type of thing and the predators in this world and what they are capable of.
