Yeah... Polisse was good. And Elle is another very good proposal, I would dare to say that shares a certain similarity (maybe I'm forcing this comparison too far?) with Crash from David Cronenberg. Have not seen My Queen Karo.

I should try to update this thread.... We must keep it updated.

I like only a few French films that can really be considered horror. I love anything by Jean Rollin, but his "horrors" are mostly cute and funny erotic films about vampires. However, Fascination has a pretty good spooky and tensed atmosphere.

Another notable French director is Mario Mercier who filmed La Papesse (75) and La Goulve (72). Both films are about witchcraft and devil worshiping. However, La Papesse focuses mostlly on sadism and humiliation in a sect of satanists, when La Goulve - on mysticism.

By the way, La Goulve was banned in the 70s and never released on VHS or DVD. There is only an old tape rip of a bad quality that is hard to find online. And La Papesse was released on DVD. Both films are masterpieces of French horror.

Well now that being said, I will have to find these 'masterpieces' : )
