He definitely gets a bad rap but he's had some fantastic roles over the years. It's a shame that his name has become somewhat of a joke over the years.
I think that if anyone doubts that he's capable of a good performance than I'd highly recommend Leaving Las Vegas.

That is a great one there and I aslo enjoyed Raising Arizona. I'm personally not a fan since the stuff he makes isn't of my interests so i don't see any of his work.  He calls his style "mega acting" and it is he is a true performance artist. Sure he hams  it up but so does alot of actors that are considered the gods of acting.  Al Pacino holy shit watch the Devil's Advocate there is some awful shit there. But I can't forgive Nic for the ending in City of Angels it ruined it for me.  But that is just me.  Nic Cage is a Treasure and we are lucky enough to see an artist at work.

Leaving Las Vegas is a great one!

I'll always love City of Angels because of my mom showing it to me pretty young. I hear a lot of shit about his Gone in 60 Seconds but I personally like it... maybe its because of Angelina Jolie

I really like Next too.

There's a few staple movies of his I still haven't seen. Still haven't seen Mandy, might watch it tonight.

Haven't seen Mandy or Color out of space either but I'm curious. I like that he doesn't care that his style is a joke to many, he showed up wearing a leather jacket with Bee on it to a premiere once.
I also quite enjoy the vampire movie he was in, hell even the one with Jim Carey is fun.
