That's awesome news, I've been wanting to check this out! And with Shout Fac. doing it it should be great.

Now to play the waiting game.

The film has only been available digitally, however, some great news has come in: Shout! Factory has acquired the film right to release the flick on DVD and Blu-ray!

This will certainly help get The Battery the wider audience is deserves.

Other various distributors have also picked up ‘The Battery’ for release in other countries. Unfortunately, the filmmakers don't have control over the artwork and title. The artwork is intact here but oh fuck you to the German distributors on the terrible title change. The term "the battery" is of course baseball terminology. So using a term for an American sport for its title was always going to cause confusion to non-American viewers so a title change is appropriate to appeal to the foreign markets. I can understand this so I don't actually have a problem with the concept behind it but they could have come up with a better title than this...

Agreed, Ben and Mickey Vs. the Dead?

The film is more about how the two get along, more about zombie slaying. I think that other title is pretty misleading.

Ben and Mickey Vs the Dead really sounds like a comedy and not what this film is about, bet the guys are cringing at this…I know I am

It's to be expected in a lot of ways that the title won't be understandable or translate well for most non-US territories. However, that doesn't excuse the poor alternative title for the German release. It will be interesting to see what it's called if it gets a release elsewhere.

Thanks! I didn't care enough to explore on my own haha, but now I know. It's America's past time (more like nap time because I fucking hate baseball) and I don't know it. I feel like I let my country down.
