Death Proof

Wow, I don't get the dislike for this. I loved it. Loved it's Grindhouse feel and look, although it kind of loses that in the second half for whatever reason. Some of the dialogue isn't as interesting as his other works but it doesn't hurt it too much. I don't get the dislike for it at all. Russell was awesome, as always.
And I loved the little homages to Kill Bill, the phone ringtone and the 'Pussy Wagon' sticker on the second groups car. :D

Funny you mentioned the second half. Brings back something Jim VanBebber was saying about it. How he is such a tough psycho stunt driver then he is a pussy and gets bitch slapped.

Yeah I was watching the features and thats how both QT and Russell wanted it to be. Like, the guy was over powering, but goes to water when someone fights back. Which I do suppose would be try for a lot of people.

Also, in real life, if you're shot, and an arm broken, you'd be squealing too. Hahaha.

Wooden made me aware of this film a couple of days ago, in fact the below video is the one she uploaded to Youtube.

What I watched had no subtitles, it is in Spanish,  but that has never bothered me. For the most part I feel it adds to the whole movie and got me contemplating what was happening. It is beautifully shot and held me the whole time. When the siblings become possessed it was amazing in its debauched animalistic arousal!

A brother and sister find a cursed(?) doll baby and become possessed. When the spirits arise they share carnal pleasures with each other. Eventually they become animalistic.

I really enjoyed CARNE DE TU CARNE and would recommend it to anyone who loves the movies of the 70s and early 80s.

Confess it has been quite a while since I saw it last. Own that Blu-ray release in the big box. If that was done on purpose cool I guess.

Yeah it's mentioned in the features. QT and Russell thought it would be hilarious.

Well good for them, shame they didn't do it a little different.

Gummo (1997) ~ 8 / 10

Honestly at times I had no idea what I was watching if it was a drama, a documentary or whatever,  but it was a brilliant experience!!!

Well this is a great movie that I would highly recommend. Very well done and thought provoking. Liked the portrayal of ideas, be it the mythology aspect or the characters thinking about what could have happened. Liked that the entity is pretty much kept hidden the while time, after all that is it's nature.

I have to say I do prefer the later SLUGS THE MOVIE with all its gore but this was still entertaining. The was some continuity issues in the storyline but didn't really faze me. After all it is a movie about man eating worms : )

Death Wish (1974)

First time viewing it, was a pretty good revenge flick. The beginning was surprisingly frightening.

Inglorious Bastards

First viewing and in all honesty I was pretty disappointed. After hearing so much about it I was pretty let down really. It wasn't bad but I just felt it dragged in a lot of places. And the characters were woeful for Tarantino, the only one worth remembering was the Colonel 'Jew Hunter' and I did like Fassbender's character too. But apart from that, and the hot ass chick who owned the cinema it didn't take my fancy a lot. I'll be giving it another shot for sure, but yeah I think it's one of his weaker films.

Watched Death Proof again though and loved it even more than the first time.
