Trigger warning: Suicide.

Saw Lords of Chaos last night. I expected it to be bleak, but the suicide scene threw me in a state of shock unlike anything Iíve ever experienced. It was too familiar. The walking up and down and lying down on the floor before doing it, and the intense calmness he cut himself open with, paired with this cold blooded determination of ending himself was something that hit too close to home. I tried to kill myself by slitting my wrists two years ago, and the way this scene was executed threw me back so vividly that I felt sick. I walked out of the theater and locked myself in a bathroom for around 15 minutes, violently shaking. I felt like I was going to faint. I still remember that evening like it was yesterday. I remember walking up and down the room, laying down and getting back up. I remember thinking about my mom, and all the things that would come after this moment. I wondered if my cat would miss me, or just find a new owner and be happy there. I thought about my brother suddenly being an only child. About who would own the masses of DVDs that I had in my room. I remember finally sending a text message to the only friend I had that only said ďbye manĒ, and then, immediately after putting my phone away, taking a butterfly knife and cutting my wrists open. I cut them multiple times, quickly, one slit after the other. And I was so calm. I remember how quiet it was in the room, while laying back, waiting. The only reason Iím still alive is because the friend I sent a text to called me in a matter of minutes, and weirdly, I felt compelled to pick up. I donít remember what he said, but I started crying and ultimately tried to stop the bleeding. I donít remember a lot of what happened after, the calmness I had before vanished and I had a complete meltdown, I do remember those short 10 minutes in which all of what I described went down though.

That specific scene in LoC messed me up beyond belief. Iíve been stuck replaying what I did to myself every second since I saw it.
