Ehh. it looks OK from the stills, but the truth is I'm yet to see a really awesome Clown flick. A real nasty one anyway that's made well. It's an awesome concept, but no one is just able to do it.

I tend to avoid them now as they all just turn out lame pieces of shit (Asylum I'm looking at you). This new one with Billy Jr coming out seems promising. But my expectations are pretty low.

Fuck. You.

This film is amazing!

Saw this today, Marcus talking about 100 Tears:

Quote
Marcus Koch: They never sent me any copies of "clown" they sent the artwork years ago for approval, i didnt know it was cut, funny thing about the title 100 tears, i chose that because 2 reasons, first and foremost i didn't want a title with the word clown in it. Second, if i gave the movie a name that started with a number, then in most alphabetical lists, it would always come before "A" and be the top of the list... most indie films always get lost in the shuffle, so i thought that would help with better visability.

Warning !! long winded post ahead !! haha.

ok so since Terrifer 2 did a super successful campaign, and congrats to them! i've been barraged with emails and text about 200 Tears. would I love to ? absolutely ! so hopefully i can clear the air and get down to the brass tacks of why its not likely we can ever make a sequel.

Joe davison and I both own rights to the character 50/50 I cannot make the Movie without Him, and He can't make a movie without me. Joe wrote the script based on my ideas, we bounced the story of the clown back and fourth, but ultimately he wrote the orginal script, and plays Mark.

Joe's stipulations is he wants to WRITE and DIRECT the sequel , the script is all ready written, its actually a lot of fun, but its a HUGE MOVIE with swat teams and car chases, and shoot outs, and a massive Clown Parade,,, its crazy big!!!!! and TONS of CARNAGE in Gurdy's wake. and probably needs closer to half a million to make it.

I would be stepping back to let him direct. this way i can focus on just the over the top gore FX sequences. trust me, its not an easy job to direct and do FX at the same time on that scale. so i actually prefer him directing.

YES its a painful reminder that our kickstarter FAILED. that shit will never go away. i think it failed for a few reasons, not because we didn't sell blue rays for 100 dollars, or coffee mugs for 180 dollars. who knows ? maybe we should have done that... but ... we ran our campaign smack in the middle of the trump/hillary debates. i think that impacted the campaign more then anything. because he we are almost 3 years later. and people still are hot and bother and have their knickers in a twist over it.

also another factor, 100 tears never made it super far into the mainstream, sure we hit netflix for 2 years at its first go, but it went off before it really hit full steam, mainly because our original distributor went tits up, because they were SUED by some little company who they owed alot of money too and the case was won.....( wonder who that little company was who put anthem out of business?) hehehe. but i digress

Terrifer got a HELL of a wide release, so more of the mainstream public know who ART the clown is. and only US small handfull of fans know Gurdy. granted Gurdy usually hits most peoples top 10 favorite clown lists. but ART has a bigger fanbase. . that's really what it boils down to.

Joe and i have been talking about the possibility of trying a second go at a campaign. but he is currently about 3 weeks away from shooting his next feature film called HANK ! so he'll be busy with that for the next year to get that done and out ( its a fun script i've read it. i hope it hits for him. ) maybe if that is successful maybe he can use that to spring board into a 200 tears. he's got much more pull than i do with finding money.

So its not IMPOSSIBLE for a sequel. , but every year that passes it looks less and less likely, also due to the fact Jack Amos isn't the spry young strapping lad he was 12 years ago. ... But Jack is definitely still Game to be on board !

that is it in a nutshell, hope this helps, i want to see it come to fruition just as much as everyone else does.

Could never understand why 200 Tears failed, thought people would have been al over it. But then again never got the hate it got as well, but then that was from mainstreamers why have a boner for big budgets and pretty faces.

Election debates playing an aspect of this failure, interesting!

If 200 came on board the campaign trail again would once more contribute! Maybe they should do their own campaign outside of the usual crowdfunding sites...I don't know...

I would love more Gurdy! We can only hope 200 eventually happens.
