Title: A Shrine To Nicolas Cage (Actor Appreciation)
Post by: Seikotik on February 17, 2018, 08:29:40 PM
This thread is dedicated to the one and only
Nicolas Cage
(https://i.imgur.com/6svnQ92.jpg)

Born Nicolas Kim Coppola. he decided to change his name to Nicolas Cage, in order to build a name for himself, rather than a result from his bloodline. He chose 'Cage' out of admiration for musician John Cage, as well as the comic book character Luke Cage.

Cage is often known for giving intense performances in his roles, whether its his dialogue, expressions or mannerisms. In the end, he is an awesome actor and should be given the love he deserves.

Below will be some of my favorite Cage flicks, but I encourage anyone to post and discuss theres!

After a typical night of scouring trendy bars for some action, Peter manages to take home the sexy Rachel (Jennifer Beals), who bites him on the neck while they're in bed. The next day, Peter is certain he is now a vampire. Though no one shares his point of view and he hasn't changed physically, he dons fake fangs and begins stalking women.

Not a fan of this guy or his movies, that's cool if you like him though.

One movie I did like is Leaving Las Vegas, not for Cage, but for Elizabeth Shue.  Very depressing movie, though.

There's a new Nicolas Cage film coming out called Mandy. It is directed by Panos Cosmatos, the same director of Beyond the Black Rainbow (http://extremehorrorcinema.com/index.php?topic=1458.msg14180#msg14180"), those who have had the opportunity to see it say that it is amazing and is one of the best performances of Cage in a long time. Revenge and madness rampant and with an apparently excellent visual style. No trailer yet.

Here's a review...
Quote
"Mandy will appeal to those who are down with Cosmatos' embrace of the grisly and grotesque. It reaches such a level that some may not be able to handle a full two hours of it. But the wait is well worth it to see Cage in a psychotic performance that will certainly mark a highlight of this stage of his career."

Sounds promising.
