Underground Horror Recommendations Thread

Welcome to the Underground Horror Movies Thread. This thread can work either way, either you want a recommendation from one of the genres within this Forum that entails UG, Indie and German UG or you just saw something that you really feel needs to be seen by more people.

Been thinking about this movie heaps this week with the new Godzilla movie coming out next year and that is The Millennium Bug http://extremehorrorcinema.com/index.php?topic=1988.0 (http://extremehorrorcinema.com/index.php?topic=1988.0)

Absolutely no CGI in this giant monster movie and it is cool! I won't go into it here as I shared the link to the existing thread on EHC and would prefer for people to go there, check it out, and hopefully reply if you are interested in this flick. But here is the trailer...

Okay, okay... As you know I don't watch a lot of underground films, so this thread will (hopefully) be my bible as such to the Underground.

I'm relying on you guys and gals to guide me into finding some seminal slices of debauchery.

Less '100 Tears' and more 'Nekromantik' though please ;)

Here is the thread http://extremehorrorcinema.com/index.php?topic=681.msg5969#msg5969 (http://extremehorrorcinema.com/index.php?topic=681.msg5969#msg5969)

Mario brought up that this is a different pace to the rest of the Toe Tag cannon and yes it is a slower paced film. But I really loved it as we watched the metamorphoses of a man and the family around him celebrating his return. As mentioned in that thread I view this in ways like Sick Boy (2012). A different take on the zombie genre.

Whaaat? 100 Tears is amazing. The music. The meat clever. The gore. Perfect.

I'm starting to know your movie preferences. I will suggest wisely. ;)

I'm dipping into the scene more as well. Because of these two assholes.

And I've loved what I've seen for the most part. This Pieces looks pretty damn cool. Money, money, money.

No, it's actually from 1977 but was released in  82. You'd have to find a torrent for it as only a handful of VHS copies were apparently released. It's a true underground obscure film but it isn't bad at all and kinda similar to Maniac in tone.
I can't copy & paste but here's a review I did on IMDB for it.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1764732/reviews-2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1764732/reviews-2)
It's a grimy little flick and worth a look overall. ;)

Thanks for the info, I'll have a squizz.

I can't watch films online or download though. As I live in a rural area and our Internet usage is pretty damn limited. It puts a downer on somethings. Like this.

It's available on CG if you're on it. Not a great copy but it's a VHS rip. I'm not sure where else you'd find it actually.
Another not bad and decidedly underground horror is the awesomely titled My Friends Need Killing (1976), a nicely offbeat and kinda scuzzy in parts revenge horror in which an addled 'Nam vet decides to kill his ex platoon comrades, over atrocities they committed in the war. It's nothing overtly remarkable, but it does have a pretty bleak and downbeat tone, as only those bad old 70s could give us. :D
You should be able to stream it on veehd.com, as that's where I caught it. Again, a pretty shitty copy, but with flicks like these, it's kinda par for the course. :D
Btw thanks for that link to Victims 2011, that looks pretty interesting and I've never even heard of it,thanks for the heads up.

Though far from 'Underground' I agree that Martyrs is indeed worth a watch to ANYONE interested in the more hard hitting stuff.

Though visually, it's not the most brutal thing I've seen, it's still a very hard watch.. And it leaves you feeling physically sick when the credits start to roll. I just remember sitting there, with this sick sensation in my guts and thinking "Wow...".

It's grim, harsh and just fucking depressing.. I shudder to think what the yanks are going to do with their remake, they've already said they are going to make the ending.. more 'positive'.  :hahanot:

Yeah, making the ending lighter.. Will have the film lose so much of it's effect.

Fuck that, I'll likely be giving it a pass anyway.

I'm interested in a lot of what I have read here but I'm not big on downloading full movies (as I myself want to be a writer/director). Are these movies accessible in a more legal way that isn't going to cost me $60 or more a pop?

I'll dl them if I have to but I would prefer not to. That's like punching my peers in the fucking face.

Blood Pigs (2010) from Brian Paulin!

Just re-watched tonight. Forgot how bloody, gory and insane it gets! Zombies, giant long limbed bizarro creatures, and the fetus that eats its own mother with a tube feeding thing that pops out of her fetid zombie cunt and through her face!

Watched multiple times and each time love it more and more!

Quite possibly his goriest film!

I have some SRS releases. Great stuff only complaint is they have to many trailers that can't be skipped and most of the time it's what you are about to watch.  But other then that love what they put out.  Give me Sleeze and Cheese all day
